Marabu Plasticizer WM1 is a plasticizer for solvent-based Marabu inks, designed to increase the elasticity and flexibility of the printed ink film. It is recommended for thin, curl-prone substrates and for applications involving post-print processing such as cutting or die-cutting; it is essential for the production of double-sided adhesive labels.

The recommended dosage is 1–5%. WM1 reduces drying speed and stack resistance (blocking), therefore it should be used according to the recommendations of the respective ink series.

When to use:

- When printing on thin self-adhesive films.

- When cutting, punching or punching is planned.

- When there is a risk of edge curling or material pulling.

- When printing multiple layers of ink (e.g. for double-sided stickers).

Compatibility:

For 1-component (1C) solvent-based Marabu paints.

Do not use with Mara® Prop PP.

Compatible with most other solvent-based screen printing ink systems.

Mixing ratio:

Recommended amount: 1–5%.

When printing multiple layers:

3–5% plasticizer to each layer.

Add by weight, mix thoroughly.

⚠️ The plasticizer has low volatility, so a higher amount slows down drying and may reduce blocking resistance.

Impact on the press:

- Increases the elasticity of the paint.

- Reduces internal stresses in the paint layer.

- Reduces the risk of film shrinkage and edge lifting.

- Improves the reliability of further processing.

Usage notes:

If retarders are used, it is recommended to minimize their amount.

Ensure sufficient drying before cutting or stamping.

Always perform a test print, especially with new substrates.

Storage and safety:

Store tightly closed, 15-25°C.

Use in well-ventilated areas.
