Marabu Retarder Paste VP is a paste-type retarder for solvent-based inks used in screen printing and pad printing. It slows down ink drying in the mesh, improves ink flow, and helps maintain the required viscosity, allowing the mesh openings to remain open for a longer time.

It is especially recommended for very fine details and halftone printing. The typical addition level is 10–15%, according to the ink system recommendations.

When to use:

- When the press cycle is slow.

- Using shuttle or multi-color pad machines.

- When the paint dries too quickly in the cliche.

- In high temperatures or low humidity.

- For small, detailed motifs.

Compatibility:

For use with Marabu solvent-based pad printing ink systems.

Used as an additive in conjunction with thinners, not in place of them.

Mixing ratio:

Recommended amount: 1–3%.

Add in small amounts, mix well.

The dose depends on:

- printing speed,

- environmental conditions,

- paint systems used.

⚠️ Do not overdose – too much can:

- slow down the final drying,

- worsen adhesion,

- reduce the brightness of the print.

Impact on the press:

Slows down the drying of paint.

Improves dye transfer from the pad.

Reduces paint "drying in the cliche".

Helps maintain consistent print quality over longer runs.

Usage notes:

Retarder paste is used only when needed.

It is recommended to start with the lowest dose.

Always perform a test print.

Additional additives should be used in moderation.

Storage and safety:

Store tightly closed, 15-25°C.

Protect from moisture.
