Anilox Roll Cleaning - Accu-Graphic System
Deep Cleaning Service for Anilox Rollers using the Accu-Graphic System
Since September 2000, Lipnus Ltd. has been providing a deep cleaning service for anilox rollers to printing houses in Lithuania using the Accu-Graphic system. This system enables you to clean your roller cages all the way to their bottom and fully restore the ink transfer. This way, the print quality is completely restored.
Cleaning is performed using the Accu-graphic 2400 COMBI device. This device can clean all types of anilox rollers (ceramic, steel, chrome-plated, copper, both sleeve and monolithic) up to 2400 mm long and 400 mm in diameter.
The entire cleaning process takes place in the Accu-Graphic 2400 COMBI device mechanically, following the technology that is determined according to the parameters of your roller. Since the cleaning process is controlled mechanically, the rotation speed of the roller remains constant throughout the cleaning cycle, as does the speed of movement of the cleaning nozzle along the roller. In this way, the surface of the shaft is cleaned evenly, avoiding mechanical damage that can be caused by manual cleaning.
The shaft is cleaned with a mixture of compressed air and special soda. The soda granules hit the shaft surface at high speed, knocking out paint residues all the way to the bottom of the grid. The soda granules are hard enough to break down the paint film remaining on the shaft surface, but soft enough not to damage the shaft surface. The air pressure is set depending on the shaft ruler and the material it is made of.
There is no set limit to the cleaning duration. The shaft is cleaned until it is completely cleaned. Cleaning one 800 mm long shaft takes about 20 minutes. This shows that the cleaning is done quickly enough to waste as little time as possible for our customers. Both before and after cleaning, a visual examination of the rollers is performed using a 100x magnification microscope, which is specially designed for this purpose, so at the same time the client can see not only the difference before and after cleaning, but also the general condition of the surface of the anilox rollers.
The Accu-Graphic system uses a specially developed soda, Accu-Graphic blast media (baking soda), for washing the anilox rollers. This type of soda is the main component in the production of toothpaste. This means that this chemical is completely harmless to health. Water is used during the washing of the rollers. The sprayed soda immediately mixes and dissolves in it. Only this solution of water and soda enters the environment as technological waste, and such a chemical mixture has almost no harmful effect on the environment. This technology won the European Nature Protection Award in 1998 as an environmentally friendly technology.
